I created my online business just by being me and doing the things I love. It’s that simple.
Sure, I get to write about fun products, places, people, events, and even travel on occasion. But what goes on behind the scenes of Savvy Sassy Moms is the business of blogging and it’s not all free products and pedicures!
Savvy Sassy Moms is who I am at its core but what i do day to day is more of a marketing and public relations job if anything. Some of you may not know, but I also create online social media campaigns by collaborating with a group of bloggers, known as Splash Creative Media. I also organize and assist on campaigns for BabyCenter and work behind the scenes over on the Momformation.
One of the ways I am a local business is by being an iVoices Correspondant for iVillage.com has allowed me to be a voice in my local community and report on things happening in Los Angeles and in my neighborhood. It even led me to the red carpet for The Golden Globes! All of this has led me to something else I really love, planning events! Taking some of my online efforts offline and into the real world is very exciting and rewarding for me.
It is wild to think that I literally created my job and what I do from scratch, and it all stems from writing that very first blog post. (Be careful what you wish for, you just may get it all!)
Savvy Sassy Moms may not be a brick and mortar store that you get to physically visit, and I may not have a office that people in my city can drive past, but I’m right here. I consider myself a mobile local business and well business is booming!
