Raging Waters, California {4 ticket giveaway}

What, summer is almost over?   For me it’s just getting started…

I have been buried in work and so the #MomGuilt has set in so I am trying to cram in as much last minute summer fun as I can. So we hit up Raging Waters for the first time.  I always thought it was for older kids and strong swimmers, I thought we had to wait at least 2 more years before we could go, boy was I wrong!  They have plenty of water slides, parks and pools for my kiddos (age 6 & 4). My daughter was so excited to go down the “volcano slides” but my son was not too sure about those slides so he stuck to the little dipper slides.  They were so excited to explore the entire park and loved climbing up on what they called “mermaid island”.

To my surprise my kids loved the Wave Pool the most and I loved the life jackets that were provided!  They even wore them going around the lazy river because the water was moving at a pretty fast pace. (grandma debbie will be so happy)

 7 Savvy Sassy Suggestions

1.  BYOT – Bring your own Towels.  This may sound obvious to some, but I actually wasn’t sure if they were provided or not and the website doesn’t say.  (Maybe I’ve been to too many resorts/spas;)

2.  Bring cash parking is $15 and to rent a large locker for your valuables is $13.

3.  Don’t go on a diet – they do not have a healthy menu. (typical burgers and fries)  Pack a cooler with a lunch, snacks and drinks – you can leave and get re-entry.

4.  You can rent a cabana to guarantee yourself a slice of shade, chairs and a place to keep your non-valuables.  I would do this next time, I think it’ll be worth the money.

5.  If you want to carry your camera, phone or credit cards bring a ziploc bag that you can carry with you, take pictures but its still protected.  I just wouldn’t fully submerge the bag under water, but if it gets splashed your things will be okay.

6.  Do not take your 6 & 4 year old on what I thought was a “family boat ride” called Neptunes Furry.  It’s dark and scary and there will be tears and screaming.

7.   Get there early, it gets packed.

  1. Woo hoo!! Great giveaway!! I want to take my daughter to the Water Park for the first time before the Summer is over!!

  2. Before summer’s over I want to just sit with my kids and look at all their baby pictures. They’re not even in albums (Oh, the Mom Guilt!) so we rarely look at them. That’s what I would love to do before summer’s over.

Oh – and hit the Water Park, too!

  3. I wish I had more time to take my kids places, but the summer is coming to an end, and work has to come first — unfortunately! We are taking them to Yosemite though, so that will be nice.

  4. We have been lucky enough to do A LOT together this Summer but I would like to take my 5 year old for his first time to a water park – we went all the time when I was pregnant with him and now he’s a little more ready for water park fun!

  5. Andrea, you read my mind. This is exactly what I wanted to do before summer is over. And it’s almost over! School starts for my 1st grader on 8/24!

  6. I really need to get my nails done. I’m working on another week away from the kids before they go to boarding school so this would be a great small getaway for me and my friends.

  7. LOOKED LIKE FUN!!!!!!!!! HAPPY ABOUT THE LIFE JACKETS

  9. Summer IS over for us, school started on the first Monday of this.month. one thing we didn’t get around to this summer was the beach so I’m thinking a trip is in order!

  10. living in the city nest to san dimas its sad ive never been in my 41yrs of life (well 41 on aug 15) so a end of summer fling would be awesome? i was assaulted by one of my nursing patients earlier this yr and have been barely scraping by…

  11. Awesome prize!! My kids have never been to a big waterpark. This would be an amazing way to end our summer!! Going to Raging Waters is how I want to end my summer vacation!!!

  12. My kids have been great this summer. Most days I spent in front of my computer working on online classes that I will be teaching in the fall. At the beginning of summer, our cat received a broken jaw due to a dog attack that occurred in our front yard. Our golden retriever then had medical issues. Due to over $1000 in vet bills, our funds for summer fun quickly were depleted. I would love to end the summer “right” and have some fun with my kids before we go back to school.

  13. gah – can’t believe i missed this giveaway – i’ve been wanting to go here since i first saw “bill and ted’s excellent adventure!”

wish i got a chance to chat at leslie’s party last night; next one!!!
