During my stay down at BlogHer this summer I was also invited to relax and recharge with some expert travel bloggers like Colleen of Travel Mamas and Candice from Mom Most Traveled and well just some bloggers who love to travel, Laurie from Guessing all the Way and Shelby from Glitterful Felt Stories We all have three things in common – We love to travel, we Blog and we have Kids. So when we choose where we want to stay it is not something we take lightly, oh no. There are certain amenities and standards traveling moms have, we can be the toughest of critics.
The Residence Inn at the Gaslamp Quarter, San Diego is where we stayed and it is a great location for families visiting San Diego that want to be in the heart of the city. There are plenty of restaurant’s, grocery stores, pharmacy’s and shopping to walk to. I even went into a fantastic kids Toy Store called the Kidz Garage that is just one street over to pick up some special gifts to take home to my kids!
The One Bedroom Suite
The Residence Inn by Marriott wanted to show us what they had to offer in the way of Family Travel. I love Marriott Hotels but I have never stayed at a Residence Inn so I was happy to find that they are not just a boring ol’ long term hotel. They have created a true “home away from home” literally. Residence Inn by Marriott caters to the needs of busy moms with spacious suites and one bedroom suites feature separate living, sleeping and working areas. There is also free Internet, swimming pools a gym and all for very reasonable rates.
In fact, it seems a lot better than my home. They have maid service everyday, a free gourmet breakfast with a waffle bar, and they will do your grocery shopping while you are out! Yup, just leave them a list while you go out and enjoy the day and when you return your refrigerator will be stocked with your kids favorite yogurt, juice boxes and milk. I just may move in.

I have always thought that hotels should have sample itineraries when they know families are coming with some great places that other families have enjoyed – a great cupcake shop, restaurant suggestions for kids and for date nights – the gems of the city. To have it all on one cute little card would be great.” – Andrea Fellman (SavvySassyMoms) [...]
