Who doesn’t love stylish clothes? Or better yet, stylish kids’ clothes? Between you and I, some days, I am slightly jealous of my children’s closet. It is so hard showing restraint when you are blinded by tiny little clothes and an uber-adorable mini-human gracing your side everyday. What’s tough though is more often than not, those tiny little clothes don’t come with a tiny little price. Not to mention those adorable mini-humans sometimes don’t always want to play dress-up in a store… no matter how cute those baby skinny jeans or ruffled rompers are (but seriously though, SO CUTE!). Well, moms and mini fashionistas alike can rejoice — Runchkins has created an affordable way to have stylish children’s clothes delivered straight to your doorstep.

Runchkins Fashion Box Delivery for Kids

What is Runchkins?

Runchkins is a curated collection of the latest in kids’ fashion that are hand-picked by a stylist for your little one and delivered straight to your doorstep.

Runchkins creators have taken the time to ensure they are partnered with brands that are known for their stylish, yet high-quality, long lasting pieces, such as Hatley, Nano, and Tom Tailor, just to name a few. Runchkins wants families to be able to get adorable style, not only at affordable prices, but with the ease and comfort of never having to leave your own home.

Style Box Deliveries for Stylish Kids

How does it work?

Setting up a Runchkins order could not be easier. Customers create a personalized style profile for each child by answering a few fun questions: What is your child’s favorite color? Do they like animals? Do they like polka dots or stripes better? You get the idea.

Once you fill out the style profile, you arrange for how many outfits you would like to receive and at what frequency. You can receive 3-10 outfits once, monthly, or seasonally.

For a limited time, Savvy Sassy Moms readers will receive $20 off their first Runchkins delivery! Visit Runchkins for details.

The BEST places to buy clothes for kids

Now, here’s our favorite part — just before your shipment is set to depart, you receive an email preview of your box. Unlike other similar subscription services, Runchkins allows you to exchange out any pieces from your curated box, before it ships. As a result, you know that you are getting pieces that both you and your child already approve of. Amazing and time saving!

Preschool Style for Back-to-School

Once your Runchkins box arrives on your doorstep, you and your child can try on the items at your leisure. You have five days to decide which pieces you want to keep and, if desired, which pieces you want to return. The $20 styling fee is credited towards any of the items that you decide to keep.

Have you tried this kids' clothing subscription yet?

Returns are a breeze. Anything that didn’t work for you can be shipped back for free with already printed and packaged shipping labels in your box.

As an added bonus, Runchkins has created a wonderful “Buy Back” program for its customers. Runchkins will later buy back any items that you purchase through your box. Once your child outgrows your previous purchase, Runchkins will purchase back the items (up to 30 percent, based on condition) with store credit.

Give the gift of fashion

Always struggling to figure out a unique gift to buy for the latest baby shower or your next birthday party? Try out Runchkins’ new gift service! The service allows you to set up a style profile for yourself or for another recipient. Guests can then preview, contribute, and vote on what items are their favorites, and then the gift recipient will receive the top voted item as their gift. Such a trendy idea for your fashion loving little one!

Back-to-School Style from Rack Room Shoes

It’s that time of year again! Back-to-school prep is here and the frenzy to get all the necessary items on your list seems endless — supplies for school, backpacks, lunch boxes, books, sports gear, clothes and shoes. Some of these tasks are quite daunting (ahem, perhaps locating 75 purple glue sticks?), while others are a bit more fun… like shopping for new clothes and shoes! I remember being so excited shopping and picking out my own first day of school outfits and getting my mini-fashionista-self prepped for the new school year in style. These days, I still get excited, but for getting my own little ones ready for back-to-school. I love taking them shopping and seeing what they choose to kick off the new school year!

Back-to-school with Rack Room Shoes

For back-to-school shoe prep, my go-to spot to shop online is Rack Room Shoes. Not only do they offer a great selection of on-trend footwear for the entire family from everyone’s favorite brands (Sketchers, Nike, Converse and Vans, to name a few!), but the pricing at Rack Room Shoes simply cannot be beat. Rack Room has a great “Buy One, Get One 50% Off” promotion that allows you to buy any pair of shoes and get any second pair half off. Combine that with their rewards program where for every $200 you spend you receive a $15 gift certificate to use on your your next purchase and you have quite possibly found back-to-school shopping heaven.

All about style

My son is still young enough that he isn’t really locked into one specific style yet. Some days he is sporty, some days he is preppy, some days he is everyday casual and some days he fashions what I like to call “I dressed myself while I was still asleep in the dark.” With the many options available at Rack Room Shoes we try to find a pair that will suit all his styles, as well as meet the requirements for all his activities during school hours.

Converse from Rack Room Shoes

After checking out all the fabulous styles, for this school year he decided on the super-trendy Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars. With their classic style, great support and rubber closed-toe comfort, he couldn’t have picked a better option for going back to school. After surveying the selection of colors he ultimately landed on the navy, which perfectly matches all his style needs.

A pair for him, a pair for her

Not to be left out, little sis wanted to match big brother and be part of the back-to-school fun, too! Again, with the BOGO offer from Rack Room Shoes, this was a no brainer. She picked out the Toddler Converse All Stars in pink and they are just as versatile as her brother’s.

Buy One, Get One 50% Off at Rack Room Shoes

With Rack Room Shoes, I love knowing that I am able to stylishly shop for all our children in one spot… and without breaking the bank along the way. I am able to concentrate on making that first day of school special for each individual child and can sit back and enjoy watching them figure out which pair of shoes excites their own personal style. Rack Room Shoes makes the back-to-school shopping experience simply fun for everyone.

7 Savvy Sassy Kids Picks

7 Savvy Sassy Kids Picks by andreafellman on Polyvore

1.  Dessert Art Print Set $38.00 Do you have a little girl with a sweet tooth? This 4 piece wall art set will look so cute in any little girls room.  I love the modern design and bold colors.  You can display and frame them together or individually depending on your wall space.  These would look cute in a bathroom too.

2.  UNIQLO Puffer Vest $29.90  If you are not familiar with the new store UNIQLO, then allow me to introduce you.  UNIQLO stores are popping up in all the big cities and it’s like a Japanese version of H & M but the look is a bit more casual.  The prices are very reasonable and they carry a very chic little kids line.  I am digging this puffer jacket for boys they have in stores now.

3.  Minnetonka Back Flap Bootie  $19.95  The classic Minnetonka Moccisans always seem to go in and out of style but for adults but not for babies.  These little booties always look cute on small feet. They also make a great inexpensive baby gift.  They come in brown, tan and this adorable pink.

4.  Girls Trench Coat $25.00  A little girl in a trench coat could not be cuter.  This polk-a-dot trench from Target is perfectly priced and will look great with her new fall boots.

5.  Kid Made Modern Shimmer Paint $17.99 Most kids loves to do art projects and this shimmer paint will certainly put a little more shine on your next project.  Art project supplies are also my go to Birthday present items because every kid can always use more craft paint, glitter or glue!

6.  babyGap Chambray Pocket Shirt $24.95 The denim shirt is a must have item for the entire family this Fall. This baby chambray shirt is super cute and is perfect for layering up as the weather gets chilly.  The inside is lined with jersey cotton which makes this even more comfortable on your little ones skin.

7.  Chevron Pop Up Tote $19.00  Pop up totes come in handy in almost every room in the house. Use these in your kids rooms for small toys, books, stuffed animals or even socks and shoes at the bottom of a closet.  You can also use these in the kitchen, hallway closet, bathroom or homework station.

Calling all little global citizens!

The latest Tea Collection has arrived and it is taking us to China!  For the latest Fall/Winter collection the Tea design team flew East and took a deep cultural dive into the sights and sounds of China. While there they discovered ancient crafts that pulsed with a modern spirit, saw new artwork that both honored and tweaked 4,000 years of tradition, found charm in quiet alleys just off chaotic city streets, and felt the energy of 1.3 billion people grabbing the modern future with both hands.

Emily Meyer is the co-founder and chief creative director for Tea Collection and every season she takes us on a world adventure through children’s clothing.  Which why I am a huge fan. No other children’s brand is quite like Tea Collection, the clothing has a rich point of view and shares an adventure with the customer. To some, they may just be kids clothing but I see the clothing and the brand as an inspiring way to teach kids about culture and explore the globe.

We were lucky enough to have Emily share her Fall Trends for Kids with us!

Fall Fashion Trends For Kids

1. Layers are great for added warmth and to mix and match pops of color. I like a lightweight Patagonia vest for my little guy during those in-between weather days…and a fun cardigan for my little girl.

2. For girls, graphic leggings are my new obsession for adding a punch to our brightly colored dresses. The possibilities with leggings are endless…

3. Cool graphic tees…every kiddo needs a graphic tee to express their personality. Whether it’s a beautiful butterfly or a rockin’ super panda!

4. Accessorize! Allow kids to freely pick and choose what shoes, socks, belt, hat, necklace, etc. to go with their outfit. You’ll be surprised at how creative they are and how much fun they’ll have in the process.

5. Comfort – sure you may want little ones to be stylin’ on the playground but not at the expense of comfort. Choose an ergonomically designed backpack to protect their wee backs (my fave is from Herschel). Add some kicky sneaks and a cozy French terry hoodie and they are good to go.

6. Think outside the box – little girls can borrow their big brother’s button down to wear as a shirtdress/tunic. And, we constantly hear of moms stretching the lifespan of our dresses by pairing with skinny jeans and wearing dresses as tunics as their girls grow taller!

We can’t say enough about this latest collection because the style and quality speaks for itself. I always think that it can never get any more adorable…until the next collection comes out and it always surpasses the adorable meter from the collection before it.

You can learn more about her trip and the inspiration behind the Urban China and shop the Fall/Winter 2013 collection here.

I have three daughters who love fashion. My daughters also love art, dance, music, and finding new ways each day to creatively express themselves.

I do everything that I can to give them the freedom of creative expression – through art projects, snow forts, new recipes in the kitchen, making up songs and plays, and never telling them that stripes will never go with checks when they come downstairs in the latest mismatched outfit.

Spring is right around the corner, and asides from the (hopefully) beautiful weather, flowers blooming, and April showers comes a host of new trends for kids that I can’t wait to try on my little lady. So what’s hot this spring, you ask?

1. Whimsical pieces – Anything that makes you reminisce about your childhood or makes you go “awww” is very in right now. Think applique birds (like on this too cute for words Boden Applique Pinnie), hot air balloons, and funny faces. This trend is perfect for either gender and oh-so-adorable for Mom.

2. Preppy – Come on, what’s cuter than a little boy in a tie? Not much, that’s what. And this J. Crew gingham version in bright and spring-y colors is just perfect for Easter and beyond.

3. Pastel –These See Kai Run Midori shoes just scream spring and are right on the pastels trend. Think soft, think pretty. And pastels aren’t just for girls anymore, either. Both boys and girls can rock the rainbow of lavender, mint, yellow, baby blue, and yes, even pink!

4. Lace – Romantic lace is back in vogue in children’s fashions this spring. Little ladies will love playing tea in the plethora of lace dresses soon to hit the stores like this lovely frock from Zunie. And don’t limit yourself to just dresses. Lace tops, skirts, and even pants are soon to be at a retailer near you.

5. Stripes – Stripes are one of those ubiquitous spring trends that just keeps coming back year after year. Perhaps it’s the nod to the nautical, the French, or none of the above. Either way, they’re très chic. Something like this Seersucker Blazer from Children’s Place hits two trends at once – stripes and blazers for kids. Talk about two for the price of one!

6. Neon – Spring’s motto may as well be the brighter, the better. Neon is hot hot hot right now in both adult and kids fashions. These unisex fluorescent yellow Gap Neon Skinny Jeans are right on point and perfect for the season. (And a secret benefit: they’ll make finding your kid in a crowd a breeze.) And since Gap carries the same neon jeans in adult sizes, moms can match too!

7. Floral – Floral prints are huge this spring for both big girls and little girls alike — and even boys! From retro, to modern, everything’s coming up flowers. I particularly love this fanciful J.Crew Pull-on Pleated Skirt, and hopefully it’s like mother, like daughter in this case!

So what do you think of all the new spring trends in kids fashion this year? Are you dying to try any particular style on your tots? Let us know!
