Aqua or turquoise is the trending color and modular systems are in for 2013. Lightweight reversing seat strollers are growing in demand that brands are striving to meet with new models, many of which we shall see below. Let’s get started!
New colors for the GT: red or blue with mostly grey on the rest of the stroller. Baby Jogger’s Versa will come in Blue.
Summit X3 is in its 3rd generation and will have three new colors; green dark orange and black. It has a larger seat and redesigned front wheel and suspension. The remote front swivel wheel lock is convenient in that you don’t have to go around to the front of your stroller to lock it straight or let it swivel.
For 2013, Britax has mostly just new colors. Here’s a quick rundown:
New aqua blue color is coming for the B-Agile. A taupe sandstone will go with the double B-Agile.
B-Ready will have a black fabric on black frame option as well as an olive green, a lovely greyish blue, and shiny gold.
Fabrics for all Bumbleride strollers are now eco-friendly using 50% recycled bottles on the canopy and 50% bamboo on the seat. Colors are now different as well. For the 2013 line. Fog is now their dark grey with orange accents. Cayenne is the new red. Jet is the all-black stroller. Dark teal blue Lotus with either a turquoise or pink headrest and under-canopy accents for boys or girls. Aqua is the bluish-turquoise and Papyrus is now more of a forest or hunter green.
Bumbleride Flight has a new buckle and is carrycot ready.
Indieride has a new front swivel fork and longer tubing in the front that is better-suited for jogging. A redesigned foot well is more comfortable for tall kids and the leg rest is easier to adjust up and down. Bumper bar and car seat adapter are now included with purchase. Black mesh on the peek-a-boo window is easier to see through.
Combi has a beautiful new convertible stroller called the Catalyst. A 3-in-1 modular in that the seat faces forward, reversed and can turn into a bassinet. The Catalyst has a telescoping handle and can hold your child up to 50 pounds. It accommodates not only Combi Shuttle car seats, but Graco SnugRide and Chicco KeyFit as well AND the car seat adapter is included.
Twin strollers will expand and include the Twin Cabria and Twin Catalina.
A few changes afoot at Peg Perego and the first bit of sad news is that the Si is discontinued.
The new Book Plus has bold color options, yet soft fabric. It is now offered as a modular system, which includes a chassis frame, a bassinet, reversible full-featured seat, car seat and then a super lightweight 3.5-pound toddler seat that comes with its own travel bag. You can get the entire modular system or just the chassis and the accessory you want. I love that versatility.
Dot is the smaller all-terrain urban buggy that has a full-sized seat but is narrower with 10-inch wheels. Still, the Dot weighs 26 pounds and takes 44 pounds in the seat. The Dot can convert to an inline double.
The compact Smart has a redesigned single handle and a wider, reversing seat. It will again be available with the Peanut bassinet as a bundle or by itself as a single stroller.
Phil and Teds is discontinuing several models: Hammerhead, Classic, Vibe, Explorer, Dash and Sport. All these models will be replaced by the Navigator.
The new Yezz is super-easy fold and very compact. While the Yezz has been available in Europe for a few years now, it’s finally arrived in the US. Weighing only 11 pounds this unique-looking stroller has an interchangeable seat that you can swap out for different colors.
The Zapp Xtra can now can fold with the seat installed, but the retail price will be about $100 more than the current model Zapp Xtra.
Quinny will offer more signature limited edition series with artists giving the stroller frames and/or fabric a unique splash of color.
MyDuo will have a canopy that boasts magnetic flaps over the viewing windows, which I absolutely love. A taller seatback and longer footrest will be more comfortable for taller kids.
The new single Sola is a lightweight reversing seat convertible stroller that can turn into a tandem double stroller. Sola will be available in spring of 2013.
The new UPPAbaby Mesa car seat has been taking a majority of the limelight and it is well-deserved. Coming in the spring of 2013, you can read all about the Mesa on UPPAbaby’s site.
In the meantime, here’s what’s new for UPPAbaby strollers.
Both the G-Lite and G-Luxe have a new buckle and an improved fold. The G-Luxe will have new wheels.
New colors: a lovely turquoise green called Ella will arrive for the G-Lite and the G-Luxe will have a deep red color called Makenna. You’ll also get the G-Luxe with a black fabric on black frame. The Cruz has a new lavender color and you will be able to get a bassinette for it too.
Zee has three new colors: orange Firecracker, purple Wisteria, and Cloudless light blue.
Snap now has no sun visor but has an extra panel to make the canopy bigger. Snap will be available as a 4-wheeler and Snap Air will have 4 air-filled tires.
Trimode will have another mesh panel in the sun canopy making it a complete coverage canopy and the fold will be a bit different. A new stroller caddy parent storage and organizer hangs off the handle. Spark will come in a red Strawberry.
