All moms want to feed their families the freshest and best quality foods they possibly can, but that isn’t always easy. Traditional grocery stores sometimes have limited or expensive options. We recently tried Zaycon Fresh, a meat delivery company, and it impressed us so much! With Zaycon you know you are getting high quality and farm fresh meats for your family.
How it works
Zaycon Fresh reminded us of a drive-thru meat market. It might sound like a funny concept, but we actually found it brilliant — and perfect for busy families who want fresh quality meats at amazing prices. Zaycon works directly with ranchers all over the country to deliver natural, hormone free meats. The meat goes from the farm, onto a refrigerated truck and straight to your car without going through all the middle men. Meat takes only days to get from the farm to your table, instead of weeks if you bought it from a traditional grocery store.
To get started, you simply register at their website to show your interest. They notify you when there are events in your area. At that point you can purchase the meat you would like in large quantities. All you need to do is show up to pick up the meat directly from their refrigerated trucks at the scheduled time.
Some people love Zaycon for the all natural, hormone free quality meats. Others love it because you save money by buying in bulk. We love it for both reasons! It was simple to show up and have the fresh meat transported directly from Zaycon’s truck to our trunk by a friendly, smiling face and now our freezers are stocked.
We received two boxes of pork tenderloins which seemed like a lot at first. We laughed thinking about the Forest Gump movie when he goes on and on about all the ways to prepare shrimp, but that is exactly what we were thinking about for our pork tenderloin. From the slow cooker to the grill and beyond, we’re excited about all of the dishes we will be able to whip up.
Apricot glazed pork tacos
We’ve already been serving some of the Zaycon Fresh meats to our families and we wanted to share one of our favorite (and easy) recipes. It’s done in a slow cooker, making it perfect for busy families on the go. Plus, the meat can be eaten alone with rice and a salad, on a bun as a pulled pork sandwich, or our favorite option as a taco.
18 oz. jar apricot preserves
Packet onion soup mix
1 cup water
1-2 pork tenderloins
1. Combine apricot preserves, soup mix and water in a bowl and mix well.
2. Place pork tenderloins in slow cooker and add preserves mixture.
3. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or until meat pulls apart easily.
4. Using two forks pull apart meat to shred.
5. On hard or soft shell tacos add meat, chopped lettuce and feta cheese.
We might have thrown out our shoulder patting ourselves on the back after dinner this night. These tacos seriously taste like something from a restaurant and were so, so good!
What are your favorite pork tenderloin recipes?
