What I love about clothes shopping while in my 30′s is that I know what looks good on me. I’ve tried almost everything and I have narrowed down what types of clothing, fabrics and styles look best on my body type.  Of course you only learn this after some painful moments while looking back at pictures and some uncomfortable days wearing the wrong thing. We evolve into our own personal style and this evolution can only happen over time.

In a dream world, it would be amazing if stores would organize things by your style and body type, making it a lot easier for everyone to shop! This would save women a lot of time. I would love to just go directly to the section that has clothing for short and pear shaped women with my same personal style.

Well, ModaMi is doing just that. This brand new, personalized online shopping destination is curating picks just for you by using your style and body type to create a shopping experience that is quick and easy.  While shopping online at ModaMi, you are only shown items that meet your style and body type personality and criteria. In their tagline “Shop your shape, love your style.” Best of all, ModaMi listens and learns from their very own customers. They get savvier about what you like and what works for you the more you interact with the site. So they learn what you love and just give you more of what you love. How amazing is that?

I have been doing some shopping for Costa Rica and I tried ModaMi out by searching for some fun Maxi Dresses.  I know these look great on my body type because I love my arms, neck and shoulders. I have short muscular legs so I am typically not a fan of shorts or short skirts. Long maxi dresses and skirts are perfect for me.  They also make me appear a bit taller especially if worn with wedges.

Every woman has her “problem” areas and every woman has her favorites.  It’s really a matter of accentuating the positive and minimizing the negative.  Don’t try to wear something just to follow the trends, not only will you feel uncomfortable wearing it but it is a waste of money, stick to what makes you feel your best.

I
am loving this Splendid maxi skirt!  The pockets were a pleasant surprise and such a neccessaty for stashing my phone. I chose this skirt because it is simple yet can easily be dressed up or down. depending on how you style it.  This is a total laid back look that I will be wearing a lot while living in Costa Rica and as I travel over the next few years.

Disclosure:  This is a sponsored post and I was sent a skirt so I could experience the shopping experience.  All my savvy thoughts and sassy opinions are my own.

Beach Time {What to Wear}

Beach days are just around the corner; have you found that perfect beach or poolside ensemble yet? Today I’ve come up with four looks that will leave you stylish and comfortable for your next resort vacation or family day at the beach.

1. J. Crew swimsuits tend to be a little on the high-end of price but they do have a variety of swimsuit styles to choose from.  This swimsuit is a colorful floral garden party one piece worn with a long coral maxi skirt and a fabulous fedora.  The shoes that I’ve chosen are a simple pair of Havaina’s in a neutral beige.

2. If a two-piece is what you’re comfortable in, here is another great swimsuit by J. Crew in a solid color.  Throw on a breezy white tunic and a cute summer hat with a pair of flip-flops and you’ve got one simple yet fashionable resort style look.

3. Target always carries a wide variety of swimsuits. This one piece swimsuit with ruching detail worn with a simple floral sarong is another good look for a lazy day at the beach.  Don’t forget the straw hat!

4.  Perfect for lounging around the poolside here we have a hatler swimsuit with a ruffle bottom and a built in slimming layer.  A great look if you are feeling a little self conscious, like many of us do when it comes to swimsuit season.  Again, complete the look with a great beach hat and a fun pair of pattern flip-flops!

What is your favorite swimsuit style?

What Andrea Wore: “I wore this the the Mom 2.0 Kentucky Derby party.  I thought this dress was a bit of a modern twist on the typical floral dresses you might see.  I love the cut and the bright neon stripes.  It is from Macy’s.  My shoes are a natural wedge with very light gold straps, I love them because they go with everything.  I bought those at Marshalls for only $49.99.  The most important piece of this outfit is the gigantic hat!  The hat is from Coolibar and I am a bit obsessed with it at the moment.  It’s huge and perfect for the beach this summer!”

Three ways to wear floral jeans

We are seeing an explosion of fashionable floral trends this season on jeans, skirts, tops and blazers and it doesn’t look like it’s going away anytime soon. Floral jeans can be a particularly intimidating fashion choice so today I’ve put together three ways you can incorporate this trend into your wardrobe.

I’ve used the same pair of jeans for all three looks to give you an idea of how versatile floral can be.

1.  I’ve chosen a sleeveless peplum lace top with a delicate blue necklace which will compliment the blue color in the floral pattern.  Throw on a pair of neutral pointed toe pumps and this will make for a fantastic evening look.

2.The second look is a little more casual with a bright pink J. Crew ballet button top and a navy blue bubble necklace. The shoes are a fun pair of GAP navy and white polka flats.

3. This year it seems none of the old fashion rules apply. I’ve mixed stripes with floral in this look and completed the look with a canvas style jacket available at Old Navy and a pair of lace up boots.

Will you be adding floral denim to your wardrobe this season?

Another amazing week of What We Wore Wednesday. I love the Spring outfits that everyone is finally getting out. I cannot wait to wear some sundresses and sandals.

What I wore Wednesday 4_2

WIWW 4.3 Collage

What Candice Wore…”I just received these dENiZEN from Levi’s Essential Stretch Skinny jeans (at Target) to try and I am in love. They are seriously like wearing pj’s, but they are jeans. I like them so much I’m going to buy a pair in black.  These jeans have kicked my favorite jeans of 2 years to the curb. I can’t believe how flattering they are too. I wore my jeans with a Banana Republic cowl neck shirt, Metaphor shirred sleeve black blazer from Sears, Quatrefoil necklace from Everyday Icing Accessory Auctions and Kardashian Kollection pumps from Sears. I was heading to a fashion show so I threw this together with my new jeans and was so comfortable all day.”

What Sherry Wore..”Peplum top in Bali Blue with a pair of snake skin jeans both are Express. Stella and Dot Necklace and Michael Antonio snake embossed stilettos that are a killer to walk in.”
