Here’s what we wore this week! blackandwhitestripe4-551x1024

Sherry Wore: “I wore a black and white stripe Express dress, black heels  are White House Black Market and the Necklace is Spring Awakening Stella and Dot.”

2013-06-07 18.51.53

Candice Wore: “I was in New Jersey last week and wore this to a night out. The dress is the Exotic Ease Maxi Dress by mark., with a necklace from from Forever 21 and a pair of shoes from Sears (both from last year).”

Tracy Wore: “I will tell you right now that I do not like shorts. I honestly haven’t worn shorts for I bet 10 years or more. I prefer sundresses and skirts in the Summer. However, JCrew was having a sale and I decided to try a pair of their boyfriend shorts and I truly do love them. They are a great fit and a length that I love – not short-short to make me look like a wannabe 20 year old and not long as to not look like my mother! It was still a cool day, so I paired the shorts with some suede oxford wedges from a local boutique, a sweater from H&M and a scarf also from a local boutique. Do you wear shorts? I would love to hear some brands that you love.”

We love showing outfit ideas each week from our Savvy Sassy Moms contributors. Thank you again for joining us! WIWW Savvy Sassy Moms Andrea Fellman 5_21

What Andrea Wore: “I wore this the the Mom 2.0 Kentucky Derby party.  I thought this dress was a bit of a modern twist on the typical floral dresses you might see.  I love the cut and the bright neon stripes.  It is from Macy’s.  My shoes are a natural wedge with very light gold straps, I love them because they go with everything.  I bought those at Marshalls for only $49.99.  The most important piece of this outfit is the gigantic hat!  The hat is from Coolibar and I am a bit obsessed with it at the moment.  It’s huge and perfect for the beach this summer!”

What Franki Wore: “I was running errands and needed a comfortable outfit, so I have on a Bellyssima tank top, white cardigan, comfy maternity jeans and a pair of flat sandals”

What Tracy Wore: “I wore this outfit for a Listen To Your Mother Show rehearsal. It was still a very cool day in Minnesota, so I had to layer-up as usual. I am wearing a great tunic from a local boutique, navy leggings from Target, a raincoat and scarf from Matilda Jane and shoes from Seychelles.”

Have you ever found a website and then spent the next few days clicking around, dreaming of everything you’ve seen, and wanting to buy almost every item on it?

Well this happened to me  a few weeks ago. I found the site French Blossom via a link I saw on twitter, and now I want absolutely everything on the site.

French Blossom carries items that are all from French Designers – from baby gear, clothing, accessories, room decor, home, design, for both girls and boys. The colors are soft, the styles are simple and luscious and every thoughtfully chosen item is just well..oh so French.

Trust me on this – you too will want to travel to the land of of Eiffel Tour, fine fabrics, amazing food, clean lines, and classic styling when you visit French Blossom. Your Parisian baby will thank you.

French Kids Accessories

I love their selections of art supplies and papers. My girls will go crazy over all of this.

French kids decor

Even though we just redecorated our kid’s rooms – I now have the urge to go with a French motif and start all over again. How dreamy are these home decor items?

French designer clothing for kids

French fashion is clean and elegant and I think I need all of these items in our closet today.

French Toys

Whimsical, fresh, classic and fun can only describe these lovely toys that will become heirlooms one day.

How about you, doesn’t French Blossom give you some French inspiration?

It finally hit 70 degrees here in Minnesota! We were so anxious to shed our Winter coats, hats and boots and hit the stores for for new Spring and Summer fashions. We filled bags with dresses, shorts, tank tops and sandals. We are so ready to get some sun.

The pools will be open in the next few weeks, so it’s also time to grab a few swimsuits to get us ready for pool, beach and sun!

Let me just say right now that I am not a prude, nor do I have an issue with a bikini on a young girl or tween girl.  I say you need to buy, and your girls should wear what you all are comfortable wearing. I always wore a bikini as a little girl and I sometimes wear one know. However, my daughters have never expressed an interest in them as I think they are more comfortable with a suit that doesn’t have ties and covers a little more so they don’t spend time pulling at it to keep covered or watching their top come off after a dive off the board.

There are some great bikinis that I found that don’t have tie straps that both my daughters tried on this year, but they both ended up wanting tankinis again as I think they are just more comfortable in them when they don’t have to worry about it coming off or messing with lots of ties…and a tankini still has the convenience of being a two-piece suit for easy bathroom visits and changing on the run!

Here are some of the suits we found this year that my tween daughters love and I completely approve of… tween-tankini-swimsuits

This Gap neon chevron strip tankini has beading at the ties, cute ruffles, and a great halter style. Justice red polka-dot tankini. I Love the retro styling and cute dot pattern. Neon, patterns, disco and funky can only describe this awesome suit from P.S. Aeropostale. No wonder my 8 year old loves it. I also love the look of this surf suit from Mini Boden, also available at Nordstroms. The boy shorts provide a little more coverage and comfort and awesome style.

Gap assemetrical off the shouler one piece has great colors, style and floral pattern. A little more grown-up with more coverage. I love the rainbow colors and animal print of this standard one piece from P.S. Aeropostale. I love the stripes and halter style of this Limeapple one piece suit at Nordstroms. You cannot go wrong with a limited edition suit from Diane Von Furstenberg for Gap. I love her exclusive collection and the price is sure right!

What style swimsuit do you love – are you a bikini, tankini, surf suit or one piece girl?

I have three daughters who love fashion. My daughters also love art, dance, music, and finding new ways each day to creatively express themselves.

I do everything that I can to give them the freedom of creative expression – through art projects, snow forts, new recipes in the kitchen, making up songs and plays, and never telling them that stripes will never go with checks when they come downstairs in the latest mismatched outfit.
